Ezy Reading: |
I woke up
To aches and pains
Not used to sleeping on the ground like this
But what a view
Dad used to bring me here
His favorite place
Always the same instruction:
“Soak in the view, son…
Out there
Past the pine
Those snaking loops of river and stream
And that staccato skyline of giants
Lies inner peace.”
I never knew what he meant
Heck, I was a kid.
Now though, rubbing at a sore back
And adjusting my eyes to the brilliant sunshine
I understand
There’s peace here
And I’m transported away
From worry
The Past
The Future
I’m just
Here
And oh what a view
Ezy Reading is out every month.
