When the rains next came
I was sitting out back on the porch,
Lost and afraid
-Upstairs you were on the piano
Getting in one last tune

There was no saving the house that time (or the piano)
But as the waters rose
And swallowed us whole
In a song- in that song of hope and joy and stubborn cheer
I saw. I saw the way ahead.
